Soundproofing Wall in a Residential Apartment

The Challenge

A private client contacted the team at Acoustic Forcecommissioning us to prepare a project proposal for soundproofing an apartment in a newly constructed residential building. The client set high requirements for the soundproofing of the walls shared with neighboring apartments, as well as for the floor insulation. The main requirement was for the wall and floor soundproofing to have minimal thickness in order to preserve the room’s dimensions. As with every project, we approached this one with care and professionalism. Our task was to find the most suitable solution for the problem. To achieve this, we proceeded step by step. Our experts carried out an on-site inspection, based on which we provided an objective assessment and took specific actions to address the task.

Our Solution

To successfully meet the stated requirements, we carried out the necessary measurements. Based on the results obtained and in line with the client’s specifications, we developed a project that included the following steps:

– On two of the apartment’s walls, we installed a soundproofing system NIVELATOR SOUND;

– For the wall where all systems were to be installed in a single day, we developed a special design detail that fully met all technical and technological requirements.

– For the floor soundproofing, we proposed a solution consisting of a layer of expanded clay granules combined with gypsum fiberboards and a soundproofing membrane.

Our clients agreed with the project proposals and decided to continue working with us through the implementation and installation phase of the recommendations.

The Execution

The entire project proposal was implemented by the Acoustic Force team. During the work, we carried out multiple site inspections to verify compliance with the specified parameters. The final result was outstanding—the project was completed with a minimal deviation of just 2 mm, and the soundproofing performance exceeded the planned specifications.
