The Acoustic Force was commissioned to prepare a soundproofing project for an apartment in a newly constructed residential building. The client’s negative experience in their previous home was one of the main reasons for setting high requirements regarding the soundproofing of the wall shared with the neighboring apartment. It was crucial that the designed soundproofing solution had minimal thickness while delivering maximum efficiency, in order to preserve the room’s dimensions. To find the most suitable solution, we approached the task step by step. We first conducted a detailed analysis of the drawings provided by the client, followed by an on-site inspection by our chief engineer. Based on this, we made an objective assessment and proceeded with specific actions to address the task.
After a thorough analysis of the research results and the on-site inspection, our team decided to propose high-grade soundproofing for the wall adjoining the neighboring apartment. To reduce airborne noise, we recommended installing a standard suspended ceiling made of plasterboard panels. The reason for this decision was that the wall had significantly low sound insulation, allowing speech to be clearly heard between the two apartments.
The Acoustic Force engineer decided to implement soundproofing for the wall using the NIVELATOR SOUND system. This system can be installed with a thickness of just 60 mm and can achieve sound insulation of up to 60 dB for a brick wall.
Our client agreed with the proposal and decided to continue working with us through the implementation phase of the recommendations.
As one of the most critical tasks, the wall soundproofing was entrusted to the Acoustic Force team. The delivery and installation process for the soundproofing, covering a wall area of 17 m², was completed in just one working day, with a minimal deviation of only 2 mm. After completion, the client requested an on-site test to verify the effectiveness of the soundproofing. The results were impressive—we exceeded the client’s expectations, as everyday noise from speech or shouting was completely inaudible between the two rooms, even in total silence. The wall’s soundproofing performance surpassed the planned specifications. This marked the successful completion of yet another project.
