Client

KPMG, a leading consultancy, contacted us on behalf of a client - Uber. The names of both companies are well recognised in the community and prove that when serious businesses are looking for a reliable solution to an acoustic problem, they turn to Acousticforce.

Problem

Uber had a serious problem with the acoustics in several of its conference rooms. Because of the design and materials used in the interiors - mainly glass and smooth surfaces - there was a strong echo, breaking the confidentiality of conversations and making it difficult to conduct online and in-person meetings.

Problem Specifics

The conference rooms had two walls of glass, one wall with a large TV and one with a wall-board - all surfaces that reflected and returned sound. The client wanted the solution to be aesthetically pleasing and not hide either the glass display cases or the key pieces of furniture, such as the TV or chalkboard.
It was important that each room met the standards for acoustic comfort in a corporate environment - no chatter, no sound passing between rooms and with the confidentiality of conversations assured.

Solution

The Acousticforce team made an on-site inspection, took accurate measurements and performed a software analysis of the acoustic parameters. We proposed a custom acoustic treatment with panels designed specifically for each room - with precise outlet holes tailored to the position of the TV and board. For the first 2 rooms, 40 individual panels were designed and fabricated to fit the space to the millimeter.</span

Execution

Manufacture and installation were carried out precisely by our engineering team, with attention to every detail. All panels were tailored not only to the interior and technical requirements, but also to the client's corporate colour identity. Upon completion of the first stage, the client was so pleased that they commissioned us for a new stage of the project - a further 6 conference rooms, for which we again completed bespoke panels. This time, on our recommendation, the client also added acoustic curtains in front of the glass showcases, which were supplied through a partner company.

Summary

The Uber project, through a partnership with KPMG, showed how a tailored approach and acoustic engineering can solve even the most complex problems in a corporate environment. Each room now provides excellent audibility, preserves confidentiality and has an enhanced working atmosphere without compromising on interior design. Following the successful completion of the first 10 rooms, we were invited to new locations around the country including Veliko Tarnovo and Varna.
