Trading212- international trading company with offices in a modern business complex, specializing in online trading and financial technology. They contacted us through their technical manager and in-house audio consultant due to a serious acoustic issue in their conference rooms.
The client had invested in expensive high-end conferencing equipment, yet meetings - both online and live - were failing due to unintelligible sound, echo and chatter. The technology failed to compensate for the acoustic deficiencies of the rooms. Neither could the employees hear the customer clearly, nor vice versa. Despite noise-cancelling features of microphones and other technologies, the problem remained unsolved.
The videoconferencing rooms were built entirely with glass walls - aquarium type, with reflective surfaces on all sides. This leads to what is known as a "domino effect" in acoustics - the less audible people are, the louder they speak, which further impairs understanding.
An additional difficulty was the film placed over the glass, which had to be preserved visually, and the fact that installation work had to be done after hours. The client approached with initial disbelief and requested a solution for one room before moving on to the others.
Following inspection and software acoustic analysis, we proposed the use of double-faced acoustic panels made to size and shape to fit perfectly against the glass surfaces and foil. The panels had to be both functional and visually integrated, while also acting as a decorative element - a backdrop for video conferencing cameras.
The initial treatment was carried out in one room, and the results were visible the same day - the sound became clear, the echo effect disappeared, and the room took on a whole new level of usability. Impressed with the result, the client commissioned more:
Installations were arranged after hours and completed without disrupting the team's workflow. Employees are now using the halls to their full potential and the panels are so well integrated that they are sometimes used as a backdrop for video calls.
The Trading212 project is a prime example of how neither the cost of the technique nor its features can make up for the lack of acoustic treatment. This is a common problem in new office construction - glass, concrete and minimalism but no acoustic environment. Thanks to our individual approach, precise calculations and customized solutions, we were able to turn non-working rooms into comfortable spaces for communication. Today Acousticforce serves all their floors, and our partnership continues with the expansion of the new office levels.
