Software AG

Client

Software AG is an international software company with a large office in Bulgaria. They contacted us at the beginning of 2022 with an initial enquiry for an acoustic solution in one room. It subsequently turned out that the problem spanned the entire office floor, including multiple conference spaces and open work areas.

Problem

The original enquiry related to a room where a 3D printer was located and where the sound of printing was interfering with adjacent work processes. However, on inspection it became clear that almost all conference rooms in the office suffered from extreme rattling and lack of acoustic isolation. Due to the construction of the rooms (glazing, floorboards and partly open partitions to the ceiling), confidentiality in meetings was impossible and the background noise was significant.

Problem Specifics

Aquarium-type backsplash - glass walls combined with a smooth board surface and gaps to the ceiling. All of this created an acoustic connection between different rooms, with no real sound barrier. The client was not contractually allowed to carry out any building works, so the solution had to be an entirely acoustic treatment without interfering with the structure.
An additional feature - each room had a different character and name (e.g. "New York", "Moscow", "Prague"), which necessitated an individual design for each of them.

Solution

The Acousticforce team performed a full inspection and software analysis of the acoustic environment in the halls. For the first time, we incorporated visualizations and 3D renderings into the presentation of the concepts, a new service that became standard practice in our work after this project.
The solution included:

Custom made hexagonal panels
Acoustic paintings in some of the halls
Decorative L-shaped panels tailored to the theme of each room

Sculptural compositions assembled on site without joints, forming abstract silhouettes (like the Eiffel Tower, for example)

Execution

Manufacture and delivery of all panels (over 336 hex modules, 10 panel-maps, 52 L-shapes) was completed within 10 working days.
Installation was carried out in stages, with:

The visualizations were approved with almost no corrections - only a slight color correction was made at the client's request.

From an initial request for one hall, within weeks the project expanded to 19-20 halls on two floors. The organisation was so efficient that the client also commissioned a new phase from us before the current one was completed.

Summary

The project with Software AG is an example of professionalism, trust and dynamic work, even in an environment with many changes and demands. We went from a small space request to a complete acoustic office makeover without disrupting the architecture or the daily work of the team.
The partnership with the client continues today, and Software AG teams are now conducting meetings and video conferences in an environment with comfortable acoustics and stylish décor.
