Hotel Lion Borovets – Children’s Center

The Challenge

The manager of Hotel Lion Borovets contacted us following the successful completion of a project in his private residence. Lion Hotels Bulgaria is a dynamically developing hotel chain with over 20 years of experience in the market. Offering professional service, comfortable hotel rooms, and convenient locations, the chain’s hotels are a preferred choice for both winter and summer vacations, as well as for city stays. The group operates hotels in Sofia, Borovets, Bansko, and Sunny Beach, always striving for continuous improvement to ensure an unforgettable experience for their guests.

The inquiry they made to us was regarding Hotel Lion Borovets. During the winter season, when the hotel is full of guests, parents spend their days skiing on the resort’s slopes, while the little ones enjoy their time with the hotel’s animators, who ensure an unforgettable stay for even the youngest guests.

Unfortunately, the noise from the children’s play area was not contained within the designated room and spread to some of the guest rooms as well as the lobby bar, causing discomfort and disrupting the rest of other hotel guests. Our task was to isolate the room so that the sounds of children playing would not be heard in other parts of the hotel.

Our Solution

After conducting an on-site inspection, we developed a two-part project—soundproofing and acoustic treatment of the room. For the soundproofing of the children’s center, we designed a ceiling system using *Elastic Control*, along with additional insulation consisting of two layers of membrane and soundproof boards.

For the acoustic treatment of the room, we designed 10 panels made of fabric and sound-absorbing material. The panels featured a colorful design, with rectangular and square shapes mounted on both the walls and the ceiling.

The challenge we faced was the hall’s design, which featured an entirely wooden interior. We needed to select an appropriate panel model that would blend seamlessly with the décor without compromising the restaurant’s aesthetic appeal.

The Execution

The production took us five working days, and our team completed the installation in just one working day.

The project was completed in 2021, and the hotel continues to welcome guests for the winter season. The children’s games go on, but the noise no longer disrupts the rest of other guests.
