One of the leading retail stores in Plovdiv—Billa Trakiya—contacted us with a specific issue related to industrial noise from the air conditioning systems. The store is located on the ground floor of the Tomov Plaza residential complex, and the generated noise was reaching some of the apartments in the building. To ensure the comfort of future residents, Billa decided to take noise reduction measures even before the official move-in.
The store’s air conditioning systems were producing noise that could be heard in the apartments located above the store. Since the concept of the residential complex is focused on the comfort and quality of life of its residents, an effective soundproofing solution was required to ensure a quiet and comfortable environment for them.
The main challenge was the industrial nature of the noise, which had a relatively high intensity and frequency range, causing discomfort to the residents. In addition, the solution had to be implemented within a short timeframe, without disrupting the store’s normal operations.
We developed a two-phase acoustic project, consisting of a conceptual phase and an execution phase. The main approach was to construct a noise-suppressing structure to reduce the sound impact of the air conditioning systems on the apartments.
All necessary materials were delivered from Sofia to Plovdiv within two weeks. The installation of the noise-suppressing structure was completed in just two days, with the process carefully coordinated with the store’s operations to avoid causing any inconvenience to customers or staff.
The expected reduction in industrial noise was between 5 and 15 dB. Final measurements showed a noise decrease of 13 dB—a result that significantly improved the acoustic environment of the complex and provided better living conditions for its residents.
