Soundproofing Insulation Wool

Mineral wool is one of the primary materials used in building acoustics. It offers excellent sound-absorbing properties thanks to its fine fibrous structure. In soundproofing systems for walls and ceilings, mineral wool is used to reduce resonance within the cavity between panels and the wall. For acoustic treatment, it is often upholstered with fabric or covered with an acoustic veil. There are three main types of mineral wool available on the market — glass mineral wool, stone mineral wool, and synthetic (polyester) wool. All three types are suitable for both sound insulation and acoustic treatment. At Acoustic Force, we work with a wide range of mineral wool products from various brands.

Шумоизолационни вати - ISOVER AKUSTO

ISOVER AKUSTO

SAINT-GOBAIN ISOVER is a world leader in providing insulation solutions for all major applications in residential and non-residential buildings. The company has been present on the Bulgarian market since 2001. The technology used in the production of glass wool is designed with environmental protection in mind and contributes to long-term sustainable development.
The raw materials used to create this 100% recyclable product are 95% natural and recyclable — sand and 80% recycled glass.

How does Isover Acusto glass wool work?

When sound waves penetrate the wool’s structure, which is made up of individual fibers, they create friction along their surfaces. As a result, less sound energy is transmitted through the wall. At the same time, the sound waves are weakened, and their resonant frequency drops below the range of human hearing.

All ISOVER glass wool products offer exceptional acoustic performance. The company develops insulation systems for every type of construction. Its extensive portfolio of products and solutions is tailored to a wide range of requirements, ensuring the best possible results. soundproofing features.

Шумоизолационни вати - Knauf NaturBoard FIT PLUS

Knauf NaturBoard FIT PLUS

Knauf Insulation is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of insulation solutions. As the fastest-growing company in the sector, it operates production plants in Europe, America, and Asia.

KNAUF NATURBOARD FIT PLUS

Mineral wool insulation offers a unique combination of thermal, fire, and acoustic performanceThe material is the ideal solution for noise reduction, thanks to its unique fiber matrix. Knauf NaturBoard FIT PLUS contains a high proportion of recycled raw materials derived from melted quartz sand and recycled glass. Using a special centrifuge, the resulting molten “lava” is separated into fibers, which are then formed into insulation boards. Sound waves are captured within the fibers, allowing less sound energy to pass into the surrounding environment.

The mineral glass fibers from which it is made Knauf NaturBoard FIT PLUShelp increase the amount of sound reduction achieved.

This product is resistant to high temperatures and aging, water-repellent, chemically neutral, and retains its shape under various conditions. It is easy to work with and can be cut at home without difficulty.

Features

Purpose

Stone mineral wool Knauf NaturBoard FIT PLUS is a board designed for thermal and acoustic insulation of pitched roofs, suspended ceilings, external walls, or internal partition walls.

A good insulator and an excellent choice when there is a need to improve the acoustic performance of rooms with internal gypsum board partition walls. It is often used in soundproofing systems for wall and ceiling.

Шумоизолационни вати - Rockwool Steprock HD

Rockwool Steprock HD

Rockwool Steprock HD

Sound and vibration absorption.
Exceptional sound absorption capability.
With its numerous interwoven fibers, the structure of stone wool neutralizes and absorbs vibrations.
This unique structure makes
Steprock HD, it one of the best sound-absorbing construction materials.

The boards insulate not only impact noise generated by direct movement on the floor but also airborne sounds within the room. By using Steprock HD, you will improve the acoustic performance and prevent sound from being transmitted through floating floors into the supporting structure, and consequently, throughout the entire building.

In addition to its exceptional sound absorption properties, the product can also be used to counteract other strong vibrations generated by sources such as traffic, ventilation systems, or heavy machinery.

Rockwool Steprock HD

Water resistance.
Steprock HD insulation boards are made of stone wool impregnated with organic resin, making them completely water- and moisture-resistant.

It is well known that moisture in insulation reduces its thermal conductivity efficiency, which is why with stone wool boards, you will never face this issue. The organic resin impregnation that provides water repellency is embedded within the product, not just on its surface.

Fire resistance
Stone wool fibers can withstand temperatures above 1,000 °C.
Its fire protection capability is a feature that will convince anyone to choose this insulation product.

Thermal conductivity
At normal temperatures, stone wool has a thermal conductivity between 0.035 and 0.040 W/mK. Its most significant advantage is its ability to retain its insulating properties for a long time, even in the event of a fire.

Shape stability.
Rockwool Steprock HD offers excellent mechanical properties as well as outstanding shape stability. Stone wool is one of the few building materials that has virtually no thermal expansion, as its structure contains no closed cells.

Features

Purpose

Rockwool Steprock HD is primarily used for insulation beneath floating floors on concrete bases in residential or office buildings.
Steprock HD is the strongest board, featuring high density and load resistance. It is exceptionally moisture- and water-resistant, with both thermal insulation and sound-absorbing properties. It is recommended for floors where the insulation thickness does not exceed 70 mm and the maximum load is 2 kN/m².

Шумоизолационни вати - Полиестерна вата

Polyester wool

This is a safe, non-toxic, loose-fill insulation product that does not cause itching or burning upon contact. Due to its safe properties, polyester is widely used in the medical, food, and furniture industries.
It is, of course, also used in the construction and insulation industries.

Lightweight yet very strong, polyester wool is durable and resistant to stretching, shrinking, and mold, making it highly long-lasting.

Consumers have many strong reasons to choose polyester insulation, as a significant portion of the raw materials used in its production are recycled. РЕТ (polyethylene terephthalate).

Unlike mineral wool — glass or stone — this type of wool has a fire classification of Class B and is practically very difficult to ignite.

In addition to all of the above, polyester wool it has exceptional sound-absorbing properties. The material is an excellent choice when there is a need to improve a room’s acoustic performance. With harder materials used for sound insulation, sound often reflects back, whereas with polyester wool, a more effective process occurs — the sound energy is absorbed by the material.

Features

Purpose

Polyester wool is primarily used for wall cladding and soundproofing of ceilings and floors, both in residential buildings, as well as in public buildings.
